Optimization of early diagnosis and treatment of malignant biliary stenosis using intraductal ultrasonography with miniprobe techniques and photodynamic therapy neoadjuvant microrray
OBJECTIVES
  • prospective evaluation of the intraductal echography accuracy in the diagnosis of malignant biliary stenosis;
  • evaluation of proangiogenic factors with role of tumor markers in the structural and functional genomics of malignant biliary stenosis by microarray technology and protein array type;
  • development and optimization of malignant biliary tumors treatment.
DESCRIPTION          LASENDO is a fundamental research project with applied clinical character that follows: achieving a score of malignancy predictable using information extracted from the endoscopic practice by using intraductal echography with high-frequency miniprobe (USID); including the latest developments in medical imaging and molecular techniques; following the multimodal approach of palliative therapy in malignant biliary stenosis.
RESULTS ESTIMATED
  • implementation of a performant technique which will allow:
    • evaluating the standardized and adapted diagnostic when the disease is detected;
    • implementating and optimizing the neoadjuvant photodynamic therapy (PDT) in unresectable colangiocarcinoamele;
    • improving the survival and quality of life in patients with advanced biliary cancer.
